We strive to keep you informed of what's happening in our county. There are many ways for you to view events. The Default View is with all of your calendars selected. - To view the available calendars, click Select Calendars. Put a check beside the calendars that you want to view and click View Selected Calendars and you will only see the items in the calendars you checked.
- ToView by Month click on the "<<" or ">>" buttons on the Monthly Calendar.
- You can also enter a specific date to see the events for that day.
- You still have the option of viewing a printable month and week’s calendar with your selection of calendars on it.
MAIN CALENDAR 
Flint Hills Film Festival - Sep. 10 - Sep. 12
The Flint Hills Film Festival is a multi-day event, which lets videographers of all ages and skill levels make a video. On Friday, Sept. 10th between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, teams must register at the Geary County CVB located at 823 N Washington St. At 2:00 pm, teams will meet at the Geary County CVB and be given sealed packets of information containing the theme for videos and eight locations. All locations will be in the Junction City area. Video production and editing will take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, ending at 5:00 pm. The final product must be no longer than 3 minutes 10 seconds in length, include four of the eight locations, and be based on the theme provided. You can use any grade of video equipment, though all finished products must be turned in as DVD format. Awards and Cash Prizes! Sponsored by the Geary County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Back It Up Trail Race - Sep. 18

Ft. Riley Apple Days Fall Festival - Sep. 18
Apple Days has something for everyone! Historical re-enactors and the Ft. Riley Mounted Color Guard provide a look into the past. Equipment displays and hands-on activities provide a look at the present. A large area is dedicated to consumer displays, which provide information on a wide-range of on-post and off-post businesses and organizations. Make sure you buy one of the famous hand-made apple pies!

Konza Prairie Biennial Visitors' Day - Sep. 25
Visitors' Day is presented by K-State Division of Biology, The Nature Conservancy and Friends of Konza Prairie, biennially in even years. Visitors' Day activities grant guided access to restricted areas of the field research station, such as to see the bison herd or hikes within the trail system. At Station Headquarters, view live animal displays and research exhibits and learn about tallgrass prairie conservation and management. Discover the Tallgrass Prairie ecosystem, tour the prairie by hay wagon, hear local history about the Swedish immigrants who settled here in 1878, visit Hokanson Homestead to tour the original limestone barn, relax in the wildlife observation lean-to, or walk a wooded trail along Kings Creek.

GCHS Fall Fair & Ice Cream Social - Sep. 26
Just as the summer fun comes to an end and the new school year gets under way, Geary County Historical Society will bring you a Fall Fair and Ice Cream Social. We will have Munson's homemade ice cream to be enjoyed with pies, cookies, cakes and brownies made by some of Junction City's best bakers! In the auditorium you can sit and enjoy your refreshments while listening to the Junction City Jammers. Venture outdoors for more musical entertainment, crafts, home grown produce, antiques, collectibles and flea market items available in booths on the museum grounds. Great fun for the entire family!
