    The Junction City Little Theater brings everyone's favorite practically perfect nanny to the stage in this Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious musical adventure. One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way, as a practically perfect musical! The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it." Mary Poppins is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers, and astonishing stagecraft.

  3. Cinco de Mayo - Join Hands with Wheels of H.O.P.E.

    May 7, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ Heritage Park 6th & Washington St. Junction City, KS 66441

    This is a fundraiser to support the mission of Wheels of H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat). Wheels of H.O.P.E. is a mobile food pantry serving chronically hungry children in Geary County. A traditional Mexican lunch will be served. Activities for children will be available including pinatas, balloon animals, tarp throw, kids' obstacle course, giant Jenga, face painting, games and crafts. Children activity tickets are $1 or 6 for $5. Entertainment will be provided by Ballet Folklorico de Topeka, Mariachi Luna Azul of Topeka, Next Step Dance Studio, Geary County Children's Choir and the Junction City High School JROTC. Participants are invited to bring canned and boxed food to help children who need supplemental food. Financial donations are also accepted. Sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America, Jim Clark Chevrolet, Central National Bank, American Legion Post #45, Walmart, DAV Pearl Harbor #16, Millennium Bank and Wheels of H.O.P.E.

  7. "Run For The Wall"

    Veterans from all wars and their supporters will leave from Rancho Cucamonga, CA on their annual pilgrimage across the heartland of America to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial - "The Wall" - in Washington D.C. They will honor Junction City with their stop here on May 22nd. Their mission is to create a groundswell of support for American POW/MIA's from all wars, and to honor the memory of those "Killed In Action" and to help those injured by war to heal. Please join us in making this a memorable and honorable stopover. This 10-day, cross-country journey will include ceremonies with veterans and organizations, visits to war memorials, visits to VA Hospital patients, and other stops to make sure our POW/MIA's are not forgotten. Everyone is asked to line up on Washington St. and participate in the "Flag Line" to welcome these veterans to our community. On Monday morning they will be served breakfast before they continue on with their journey.
