    The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is returning to Grandview Plaza! The circus brings two action-packed 90 minute shows featuring Big Cats, Trapeze, Tight Rope, Horses, Contortion, American Eskimo Dogs, Leo the Clown, Unicycles, the Wheel of Destiny and so much more! A very special part of the day is the Tent Raising at 9:00 a.m. where you will get to see just how the Big Top is set up. Great family friendly entertainment and truly enjoyable by children of all ages! Advance tickets are available at Handy's #1 in Grandview Plaza, City Hall, Stacy's Restaurant and the Grandview Plaza Fire Department. Money raised will go towards the Grandview Plaza Fire Department.

    Twice a year, the families of Fort Riley clean out their closets and sell unwanted items to their neighbors and friends. This is one of the largest community yard sales in the state of Kansas. The selling of personal items is only for families who live on Fort Riley. The public is invited to access Fort Riley and shop the many items the families have to offer. Please be advised that visitors without a DOD ID card will need to go to the Henry Gate Visitor's Center, I-70 Exit 301, to obtain a daily pass, you will need your driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance. It is recommended that you apply for the daily pass as far out as 7 days.

    Just as summer fun comes to an end and the new school year gets underway, the Geary County Historical Society brings you their Fall Fair & Ice Cream Social. The USD 475 School Band will provide music and there will be two Cake Walks, vendors, pie sales and much more!

  10. Jammin' in JC Blues & BBQ Festival

    Blues and BBQ...it's a winning combination! Music will fill the air when Jammin' in JC Blues & BBQ Festival brings Texas Style Blues and a four category BBQ contest to historic downtown Junction City. Blues bands will feature local, regional and nationally known artists. The event kicks off Friday evening starting at 5:00 p.m. Saturday begins with the BBQ Contest. Four divisions will be judged - chicken, beef brisket, pork ribs and pulled pork. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets! No alcohol, coolers or pets are allowed; food, soft drinks and beer will be available for sale at the event. No tickets needed - Free Admission! See "Details" for band schedule.

  12. Pasta 58 Benefit Ride

    The Junction City Parks & Recreation Dept. Pasta 58 Benefit Ride is intended to be a fun and semi-challenging 58 mile road ride from Junction City to the historic Wild West Town of Abilene. Support stops will be provided. Maintenance and repair provided by Big Poppi Bicycle Co. A pasta meal will be provided by Pizza Hut at the completion of the ride. A raffle will be held with prizes provided by Big Poppi Bicycle Co. Tandems are welcome and helmets are highly recommended.

  13. Fort Riley Fall Apple Day Festival

    The Fort Riley Fall Apple Day Festival has something for everyone! Historical reenactors and the the Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard provide a look into the past. Equipment displays and hands-on activities provide a look at the present. A large area is dedicated to consumer displays, which provide information on a wide range of on-post and off-post businesses and organizations. Family fun events for all ages! Don't forget to buy one of the famous handmade apple pies made from Libby Custer's own recipe, wife of the famous General George Custer!
