Governor's Day at the First Territorial Capitol

Join us for a commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Kansas statehood and the start of the Civil War. We'll also commemorate the arrival of Kansas Territorial Governor, Andrew Reeder, and the first territorial legislature at Pawnee in 1855. Historic re-enactors and encampments, Pioneer craft and skill demonstrations, Meeting of the "Bogus Legislature", Period music performed by the Territorial Troubadours, Milford Nature Center display of birds of prey, Homemade pies and refreshments, and at 1:00 PM the Territorial Legislature's lively and historic meetings will be re-enacted. There is no cost to participate and all history buffs, military friends and interested persons of all ages are invited and encouraged to attend.
