  1. Kansas Upland Bird Season

    November 10, 2018 - January 19, 2019 @ Statewide

    Limit for Pheasant is 4 per day and Quail is 8 per day. With 112,300 of public hunting lands in the area you should not have any problems finding a place to hunt. 19,000 acres of KS Dept. of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism  Public Hunting Lands surround Milford Lake.  In the northern area of Milford lake you'll find eight wetland cells that range in size from 60 acres to 250 acres for a total of 2,300 acres when pools are full.  On Fort Riley, 71,000 acres of 101,000 acres are managed for multiple use, which includes hunting. Military and general public can hunt on Fort Riley. Special Restrictions are in place. 12,000 acres of KS Dept. of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism  Public Hunting Lands surround Tuttle Creek with an additional 8,000 acres of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lands open to hunting.   For more information:    For Fort Riley Hunting Information:

  2. Winter Trap League

    December 1, 2018 - January 31, 2019 @ Geary County Fish & Game

    Winter Trap League will begin December 1st to January 31st (except December 29th & 30) League shooter can shoot either Saturday or Sunday. Each shooter will shoot 50 targets at the 23 yard line. Cost is $12.00 per league shoot, weekly high score will win $25.00. High overall average for league will win $100.00, shoot a heads are allowed.   3. Santa Claus at the Starcke House

    December 8, 2018, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Starcke House

    Santa Claus will visit the Starcke House Museum to take holiday photos w/ local families & children. All proceeds will support the Geary County Historical Society. Santa Claus will bring his Christmas train for more photo opportunities, and some of Santa’s elves will help with crafting a family ornament. If you are still looking for holiday gifts for your loved ones, you can visit the museum gift shop in December for a holiday sale. All merchandise will be 10 percent off from Dec. 1 to Dec. 23. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 1 to 4 p.m.

  4. Santa's Helper Workshop

    December 8, 2018, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ 12th Street Community Center

    Come meet Santa and help him in his workshop! This opportunity is for children 3-10 years of age (under 6 must be accompanied by an adult) to go on a shopping spree from among small craft items at the center, and purchase a gift that will not be complete until they add some creativity to it. The crafting items will range anywhere from $2 to $5. The children will then complete their projects and get it wrapped free before they go home. Parental supervision is recommended, but not required for those who are seven and older. One note: Many of the craft projects will involve paint. Please dress your child accordingly.
