Just in time for Valentine’s Day, JCLT presents the Shakespearean love story “Romeo and Juliet”.
Set in Verona, Italy, there are two feuding families. The Capulets and the Montagues. A fight has broken out again between the families. The Prince of Verona arrives and breaks up the fight and states that any further breach of the peace will be punishable by death.
That night the Capulets are throwing a Masquerade Ball and the young men under Montague’s charge, plan to attend the ball, including Montague’s own son Romeo. Romeo meets and falls in love with a young woman named Juliet, the daughter of Capulet.
The play is known for it’s “balcony scene”, forbidden love, sword fights and heartbreaking deaths. If you only see one Shakespeare play in your lifetime, this is the one to see!
