You'll find some outstanding fishing opportunities on Fort Riley, home of the 1st Infantry Division. 

Fort Riley boasts 24 ponds and five lakes, as well as 145 miles of streams and rivers that provide some unique fishing opportunities. Black Bass, Trout, Channel and Flathead Catfish, Bluegill, Crappie, and Carp are just a few of the many fishes that can be found in its waters.

Fishing on Fort Riley requires a valid Kansas fishing license and a special vehicle permit; however there are special creel limits and other regulations which anglers should be aware of.  

Hunting
Few places, private or public, can match the hunting opportunities on Fort Riley.  In fact, Fort Riley is known as one of the premier hunting installations within the US Army.

Upland birds, Whitetail Deer, Elk and Waterfowl can all be found on the fort. The two most unique species that can be hunted on Fort Riley are the elk and greater prairie chicken. 

All persons hunting on Fort Riley, regardless of age, must have a valid hunter education card. Special conditions apply to hunting on Fort Riley, call in advance of travel. 785.239.6669
