Heritage Park
2012NTAjunctionPark.jpg
Located at the intersection of 6th and Washington Street, Heritage Park is Junction City's central public space.

In the Historic Downtown District, the park serves as the site for many community events. It's the home to the largest free multi-day July 4th celebration in Kansas - Sundown Salute and the Jammin' in JC Blues and BBQ Festival.

Many memorials paying tribute to our heritage are featured within the park.  It is the perfect place to gather for remembrance of those who have sacrificed so much for our values and freedom today.  Those memorials and features include:
  • Civil War Arch
  • State of Kansas Vietnam Veterans Memorial
  • 1st Infantry Division Memorial
  • Junction City / Geary County Law Enforcement Memorial
  • POW/MIA Memorial
  • Purple Heart Memorial
  • Bandstand and Water Fountain
