"Buffalo Soldiers" was the nickname given to the African-American members of the 9th and 10th U.S. Cavalry Regiments.

The Buffalo Soldier Memorial is dedicated to the history of the 9th and 10th U.S. Cavalry Regiments. Both regiments had soldiers at Fort Riley, KS.
