National Wreaths Across America Day

Saturday, December 18, 2021

Join local organizations and veterans groups in this annual wreath-laying ceremony.

On December 18 at 10 a.m., wreaths will be placed at the monuments in Heritage Park in Junction City to pay tribute and respect our veterans.

Wreaths will be placed at the Kansas Vietnam Veterans Memorial, World War I Memorial, Purple Heart Memorial, POW/MIA KIA/WIA Memorial, Law Enforcement Memorial, Civil War Arch Memorial and the First Infantry Division Memorial.

Representatives from the Kansa Vietnam Veterans Association, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Veterans of Foreign Wars and The American Legion will be in attendance.

The wreaths are provided by Wreaths Across American and donations.

Wreaths Across American is a nonprofit organization funded to continue and expand the annual wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992.

The wreath laying service will be conducted by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, Chapter 21-1.

After the ceremony in Heritage Park everyone is encouraged to help lay wreaths at the Fort Riley Cemetery and the Kansas Veterans Cemetery.
