  1. Imagine Your Story: A Summer Reading Program for Children and Teens

    May 9, 2020 - August 2, 2020 @ Dorothy Bramlage Public Library

    Preschoolers through high schoolers can read and win this summer in the Imagine Your Story summer reading program. Prizes awarded for: • Children ages 0-5 years: at 200 minutes of reading, 400 minutes, and 600 minutes • Children in grades K-5: at 300 minutes of reading, 600 minutes, and 1000 minutes • Youth in grades 6-12: o Minute Option: at 500 minutes of reading, 1000 minutes, and 1500 minutes o Book Option: at 5 books, 10 books, or 15 books Sign up in person or online at www.jclib.org. The program will launch on May 9 from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. with the Summer Reading Kickoff Bash. In addition to announcing the winner of the book mark contest, we’ll also be taming dragons, finding fairies, kissing frogs creating stories with stones, playing fantasy & mythology trivia, and much more. Win prizes, make and take crafts, sign up for summer reading, or even get your first library card.

  3. Milford Lake Rock Fest

    July 31, 2020, 7:00 PM - August 1, 2020, 11:00 PM @ Acorns Resort

    Join us for the 2nd Annual Milford Lake Rock Fest! Rock out to some feel good jams at a lakeside resort in Kansas! This line-up of entertainment will get your head nodding, foot stomping and more with open sky above and grass beneath your feet. Lodging and Camping at the resort is available (RV Sites, Cabins, Lodge, Yurts and a few tent spots), and you can make reservations by phone or online. Event parking is $5/day (pay at event). The music will be going on rain or shine, so if a storm pops up times may change slightly so keep up to date with posts on the event! There will be beer vendors on-site as well (no outside alcohol allowed). Bring your lawn chairs or blanket, and come early to get the best spot for the show!

  4. Kansas Muzzleloading Association 2020 Shotgun Shoot Hosted By Geary County Fish & Game Association

    August 1, 2020, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Sportsman's Acres at Milford Lake

    All Muzzleloading Shotgun shooters are welcome to compete in the 2020 KMA Shotgun Shoot at Sportsman's Acres on Milford Lake hosted by The Geary County Fish & Game Association. The Shoot is set to begin at 9:00 AM on August 1, 2020. There will be 25 regulation Trap targets and 25 Hunter's Challenge 5-stand targets for the course. Cost is $25.00 per entry and prizes and trophies will be awarded to the top shooters. Spectators are welcome and lunch will be available by donation. Camping is also available at no cost on the grounds but there are no RV hookups available.
